Perhaps the best known course in the area is the
Lake Cedar Course at the Greenwood Country Club.
The Lake Cedar course at the Greenwood Country
Club in Greenwood was designed by George W. Cobb
in 1927 and has long been one of the favorite private
course for residents to play. The country club
also has several other wonderful amenities like
tennis, a fitness center, and of course, a
social clubhouse.
Always the favorite for a quick afternoon round,
Stoney Point is a challenging par 72
championship course located in Greenwood.
Designed by Tom Jackson, the club opened in 1990
and continues to be a visitor favorite today.
With well manicured greens and a challenging
layout, Stoney Point will certainly be among
your favorite courses.
For
a bit of a challenge, play a few rounds at
Hunter’s Creek Plantation. Hunter’s Creek
Plantation in Greenwood South Carolina offers
three breathtakingly beautiful, 9-hole courses.
Each of three courses, the Maple, Oak, and
Willow were uniquely designed, so be sure to
play a short round on all three. All three
courses offer challenging, sloped fairways and
contain some truly stunning landscapes. Also in
Greenwood SC is the Cedar Springs Golf Course,
which is a nice 9-hole course to play as well.
A short drive away in historic Ninety Six SC is
a nice course as well. The Fort at Ninety Six is
home to the renowned Star Fort National Course,
which was designed by George W. Cobb in 1969.
This course has long been favorite course to
play with its beautiful scenery and interesting
history. Ninety Six is a charming, historic
town, with a lot of character, and this course
is really no different.
No golfer’s trip to the Lake Greenwood area
would be complete without a visit to the award
winning 18-hole Davis Love, III Patriot Golf
Course. Located in the Grand Harbor gated
community this championship course was voted
“Best New Course of 2005” in South Carolina
Magazine. This private course is a Davis Love,
III signature course and is designed to
commemorate the heritage of the surrounding
area. In addition, the Grand Harbor community
offers residents a yacht club, marina, beach,
tennis courts, fitness center, and 50 acre
paddock for horses. Greenwood SC golf course
